Orkney jewellery commissions - Commissioned matching Earrings

What a wonderful commission to have the privilege of working on. These earrings were commissioned by one of our clients for their future daughter-in-law’s wedding day. We are often asked to create pieces for special occasions like weddings and birthdays. If you would like to discuss commissioning us to make a piece of jewellery for your special day, please get in touch via our contact form.

We were so pleased to be able to offer a safe and practical solution to our client’s problem. This is an example of a modification we did to the engagement ring of one of our clients. Having had her ring for over 30 years, she found herself no longer able to wear it due to arthritis. Sizing the ring up was not an option in this case as it was just her knuckle that was the problem and we didn’t want the ring to spin around once it was on the finger. Our solution was to make the shank of the ring expandable so it would fit perfectly again once over the knuckle.

This 9ct yellow gold ring was commissioned by one of our clients, with the gemstones moonstone and peridot (their birthstones) chosen to represent themselves, our client wanted a ring that his partner could wear every day so we advised that we should use a rubover style setting to mount the gemstones which offers them a bit more protection.

This sterling silver amethyst brooch was commissioned for a birthday, the recipient was born in February so our client requested that we set her friends birthstone into the piece, which is a nice way to personalise a gift for someone.

Karen Duncan Jewellery Shield on Garnets

A beautiful example of the Italian Chapel Shield necklet in gold on a strand of garnets, this was a commission for a customer who had seen our Shield necklet in silver.
